Why join Lung Cancer Europe’s 11th Report launch in Copenhagen?

Lung Cancer Europe will officially launch its 11th Report on mental health in lung cancer in Copenhagen on Thursday 26 March, during ELCC 2026.

It is a chance to hear what people affected by lung cancer are saying about the emotional impact of diagnosis, treatment and day to day life, and to reflect on what still needs to change.

Based on 2,200 responses across 31 countries, the report is the largest global survey of mental health in lung cancer. It brings together experiences from across Europe to show how people are coping, where support is falling short, and where services are still not meeting need.

The findings make clear that mental health is not separate from cancer care. Anxiety, uncertainty, isolation and emotional strain can shape how people experience treatment, decision making and daily life. Yet support is still uneven, and too often hard to access.

The launch event will bring these findings to life through both lived experience and expert insight.

Emma Britton will speak from the perspective of someone diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer one year ago. As a celebrant and radio presenter, Emma has a rare ability to put difficult feelings into words in a way that is honest, accessible and deeply relatable. Her contribution will help ground the discussion in the reality of what it means to live with lung cancer now.

The event will also feature Valeria Sebri, a psychologist and psychotherapist with a background in psycho-oncology. Her work focuses on the emotional side of the cancer care pathway, decision making, caregiver needs and communication with the medical team. She brings both clinical and research experience to the conversation, with a strong interest in more personalised and integrated models of care.

Together, these perspectives will help move the discussion beyond data alone. They will speak to what the findings mean in real life, for people living with lung cancer, for caregivers, and for those working to improve care and support.

The launch will take place in person in Copenhagen:

Thursday 26 March
18:15–19:30
Crowne Plaza, Copenhagen

Taking place during ELCC 2026, the event is an opportunity to hear the findings first-hand and be part of the conversation around what better mental health support in lung cancer should look like.
