Join the discussion on Europe’s Cancer Information Portal

Lung Cancer Europe is encouraging member organisations to take part in Shaping Europe’s Cancer Information Portal: A Stakeholder Co-Creation Forum, taking place online on 16 April 2026 from 15:00 to 17:00 CEST. The event is organised as part of the EU-CIP project and is hosted by the European Cancer Organisation.

This forum is focused on a practical question: how can people affected by cancer, caregivers and healthcare professionals get access to cancer information that is clear, trustworthy and easy to use? According to the event organisers, the discussion will bring together patients, healthcare professionals, policymakers and digital health experts to review the ongoing development of the European Cancer Information Portal.

For member organisations, this is a useful opportunity to help shape a European resource at an early stage. The event includes interactive breakout sessions for different audiences, including patient advocates, policymakers and clinicians. These sessions will look at how digital tools can support patient empowerment, improve access to reliable information, strengthen digital health literacy and support communication between healthcare professionals and people affected by cancer.

The EU-CIP project is a Horizon Europe initiative working to improve access to high-quality, evidence-based cancer information for patients, survivors and caregivers across all member states. The project aims to build a coordinated network of patient-centred cancer information portals supported by a shared library of trusted content. The organisers say this work is intended to strengthen health literacy, reduce inequalities in access to information and support more informed decision-making.

This makes the forum especially relevant for Lung Cancer Europe’s member organisations. Many of our members are already doing important work to make cancer information more accurate, accessible and useful in real life. This event offers a chance to bring that experience into a wider European discussion and help influence how the future portal develops.

The event is online and registration is open via the European Cancer Organisation event page.
